The input signal is subjected to a logarithmic and anti-logarithmic process during the voltage controlled amplifying. During the logarithmic and/or anti-logarithmic process is applied a correction signal, compensating the characteristic fault of the processes. Pref. the correction signal is derived by suitable output coupling from the logarithmic process. Alternatively the correction signal is derived from the input signal (Ue), or from the output signal (Ua).
