The workpiece-fettling or deburring machine has a driving member (3) to which the tool (6) is clamped and which works in a body (2) with bearing (16) by which it pivots on two axes (18,19) at right angles in a housing (15). Clear of the bearing is a centring mechanism securing housing and body in the desired relative positions, and comprising four or more pistons (27) working in cylinders (25) and against stops (26) in the housing and supplied by a first pressure regulator (32). In the centered position all pistons bear against their stops and the body. On deflection from this position, one piston lifts off its stop and anotehr off the body. One piston at least is supplied by a second regulator (31) with a different from the remainder. USE/ADVANTAGE - Usable for deburring equally well as for fettling of workpieces.
