摘要
Fibre binding and thorough consolidation of weakly-bonded or non-bonded asbestos and similar hazardous fibre layers involves satn. with Na2O:CH3SiO1.5iH2O and a hardener of P2O5 or suitable ester or similar combinations with similar results to achieve solvent-free through-hardening of the fibre layers. A reaction is pref. produced which results in adhesive bridges at the fibre surfaces and homogeneous adhesive bonding and fibre bonding. The reaction rate is controllable by hardener metering. Satn. is pref. carried out during low prssure spraying. Fibre binding and adhesion occur within 24 hrs. The binder combination may also be used for consolidation of residual dust and fibre waste before dumping. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process is used for thorough fibre binding of hazardous fibres such as sprayed asbestos used as insulation. and fire proofing of building constructions of steel and concrete. It provides strong bonding rapidly and without use of solvent to achieve an improved safety factor, while retaining the original fire proof class.
