The confocal laser raster microscope contains at least one laser light source, a beam deflector with at least one lens, deflection elements and one or more photoelectric receivers. An aperture (6) in the beam propagation system simultaneously acts as a mode aperture of the illumination beam path (B) and a detector aperture of an imaging beam path (A). The signal beam is separated from unwanted light, e.g. by polarisers (2,14), a chopper (15) and at leas tone blocking filter (17). USE/ADVANTAGE - For use in top illumination microscopy, esp. with quantitative and qualitative increase in image quality stability.
