The print medium is moved on a print surface in very small displacement units (WE) of a rectangular coordinate system. A printed image (G) is made up of line segments (LS) interpolated using the very small displacement units. During interpolation of a line segment the speed of the medium over the associated displacement units corresp. to the weighted speed over the displacement units of a parallel, equal length line segment to ensure approximately equal speeds over the segments.
