A new DNA fragment which can be employed as a hydridation probe for the detection of human, animal and/or plant polymorph DNA sequences and for the determination of the degrees of relationship of the individuals from whom or from which they originated. The hybridation probe contains mini satellite regions originating from the M13 phage and the hybridation process is used in the absence of competing DNAs.
