Electronic interface for engine testing bench - has piezoelectric detector giving pulsed signal corresp. to fuel injection and processed by circuit that retains one in every two pulses
The tuning of an internal combustion engine running on petrol requires two signals. The first signal is collected by a mobile magnetic sensor placed around the connection wire of a cylinder spark plug. A second signal is provided by a magnetic sensor placed on the clutch case and detecting a mark on the engine flywheel (PMH). In the case of a diesel engine the place of the spark plug is taken by a pipe connecting the pump and injector. A piezoelectric sensor is placed on the pipe so that for each fuel injection a pulsed signal is emitted. An electronic circuit processes this signal, eliminating one in every two pulses, eg retaining the signal situated between 0 and 90 degree. USE/ADVANTAGE - For garage equipped with BOSCH testing bench. Allows their use for testing Diesel engines, regardless of their power of destination, eg both, car or agricultural machines. Can be used for any other tuning appts, eg stroboscopic timing light.
