Process for the manufacture of a polymetallic composite product comprising at least two different metal layers, characterised in that: - an enclosure 4 of shape which complements an ingot mould 1 is placed in the said ingot mould, providing with the latter an annular space 5, the said enclosure constituting one of the metal layers, - a granular material is introduced into the space thus provided over the whole height of the ingot mould 1, - a base metal is cast at the root inside the enclosure at a determined temperature to obtain a polymetallic ingot, - the ingot surrounded by the enclosure 4 is then subjected to a hot-rolling process, and then optionally to cold rolling until the product is obtained, in the usual rolling conditions.
