This growth medium, intended for planting outdoor plants, is characterized in that it is composed of the source earth of the planting soil and of a group of at least three different fertilizing products, each of which is present at a specified dose: a compost, a fertilizer and a horn-base substance, and in that it has at least three layers, namely a base layer consisting of the mixture of the dose of horn-base substance with a part of the fertilizer dose and a part of the source earth of the soil, an intermediate layer consisting of a part of the compost dose, and an upper layer consisting of the remaining parts of the compost and fertilizer doses mixed with the source earth of the soil. The invention also relates to a planting process in which this growth medium is used.
