These compounds represented by the formula I below are used as inducing agents for resistance to fungal diseases in plants susceptible to be infested by a pathogenic fungus, for example, for the protection of wheat, in particular Septoria nodorum, Erysiphe graminis and Gaemannomyces graminis; pepper, with respect to Phytophthora capsici; melon, vis-à-vis Pseudoperonospora cubensis; tomato vis-à-vis Phytophthora infestans; and "Xanthi" tobacco against Phytophthora parasitica var. nicotianae.
