The invention relates to a cap for a road tanker filler valve. The cap comprises, on the one hand, a cylindrical body 30 in the form of a cup which envelops the valve 20 as well as the stopper 26 which blocks off its outlet orifice, and, on the other hand, a lid 32 articulated onto the said body so as to be able to pivot between an open position and a closed position for which it presses edge on edge on the body, locking means of any known type keeping the lid in the closed position.
