A single-lens reflex camera mirror conversion, designed to prevent obscuring of the viewfinder image or corners, consists of replacing the original mirror with a longer one (6), carried by the shutter (9) which turns about a single axis (X-X) on the front of the camera body, permitting a double rotary movement. A flat strip spring (7) holds the lower end of the mirror against the shutter, while a lever with an elongated slot prevents the mirror from making contact with the camera body during the shutter cocking action. The shutter also has two return springs (12) which return the mirror to its horizontal position without touching any sensitive components. ADVANTAGE - Simple and inexpensive to fit/replace.
