The invention applies to disposable absorbent hygiene products such as in particular diapers for babies or incontinents, feminine protection products, products for the care of the face, products for cleaning. / P P The process for manufacturing a nonwoven web, consisting at least of a mixture of absorbent fibers, such as in particular cellulose fibers, and of synthetic fibers, is characterized in that: - a homogeneous mixture of cellulosic and synthetic fibers is produced; to form a web in which at least the cellulose fibers are oriented relatively to each other; the fiber web thus formed is subjected to the effect of a microwave radiation, which is not mechanically disturbing for the orientation of the fibers, allowing the fusion of the synthetic fibers to bind the cellulosic fibers together in order to create a network of fibers, by limiting hot spots, retaining the cellulosic fibers, to promote the absorption of the web, its resistance to tearing and resilience.
