The subject of the invention is a device for measuring a relative linear displacement of two components, in particular for measuring the stroke of a jack. A device according to the invention comprises a line 6, one end of which is attached to the head of the rod of a jack. The rod 6 passes over a pulley 15 which it drives in rotation and which is solidly attached to a casing 9 fixed to the cylinder of the jack. The pulley 15 drives a gear 19 which drives a gear 20 forming part of a digital numerical counter 21, which displays the measurement of the stroke of the jack.
