Use of catechol-o-methyl transferase (COMT) inhibitors as anti-cancer agents

Catechol-o-methyl transferase (COMT)-inhibitors are useful in the treatment of estrogen dependent cancer. Such COMT-inhibitors described in GB-A-2200109 and EP-A-0237929 are particularly useful e.g. 3,5-dinitro- catechol and N,N-diethyl-2-cyano-3-(3,4-dihydroxy-5-nitrophenyl) acrylamide, in the treatment of breast cancer.
