PURPOSE:To enable to smoothly perform the tuning control with a hydrogen maser oscillating frequency by a method wherein a differential signal detected by the beat period measuring instrument is compared with the error discrimination set value, which has been previously prescribed, and a control circuit, which has a function to judge whether or not the differential signal is fitting and performs the processing, is provided. When the differential signal DELTAfm is smaller than the error set value DELTAe, the differential signal DELTAfm is stored in a memory part 35B and the capacity value of a varactor diode 21 is set at a variable capacity value by a control signal, which corresponds to the differential signal DELTAfm.
