PURPOSE:To relieve a wave impact during ship sailing as well as to aim at a reduction in pitching in time of stoppage of a ship, by installing a wave-shock absorbing member, which is lockable to a required position being free of movement in vertical directions, in the underside of the central part of the upper hull in a half-submerged ship. CONSTITUTION:A wave-shock absorbing member 23 is installed in an undersurface 1' at the central part of the upper hull 1 in a half-submerged catamaran having each of stanchions 3a and 3b which couple a symmetrical pair of half- submerged bodies 2a and 2b situated underwater with the upper hull 1 situated on the surface of the water through a water level. This wave-shock absorbing member 23 is designed to be free of lifting by means of link mechanisms 25a and 25b and hydraulic mechanism 26a and 26b. Usually, in time of sailing, the member 23 is set up at the upper part and absorbs a shock produced by an impact of waves against the undersurface of the upper hull 1. In time of stoppage, it is set up at the lower part and aims at absorbing an up-and-down motion due to the pitching of a ship.
