PURPOSE:To simulate which position of brain structure a piercing needle passes in advance by displaying plural CT images on a display device simultaneously, designating a target that is a defective part that exists in displayed CT images, and designating the scheduled progressive point of the piercing needle. CONSTITUTION:Six continuous CT images Gi are displayed on the display device(CRT) by inputting the plural CT images Gi prepared in advance and the depth d1 of each CT image Gi. Since date with respect to coordinate i.e. a marker is displayed simultaneously on the CT image Gi, the value z1 of z-axis of each CT image Gi and the measure (scale) of X and Y axes are inputted with a mouse. After that, when the position of the target T that is the defective part is inputted by designating with the mouse, the position of the target T is displayed on the CT image Gi in a mark (+), and also, coordinate T(xT, yT, zT) setting a frame 2 as reference is displayed simultaneously. Next, when the position of a scheduled progressive point I to which the piercing needle is pierced is inputted by designating with the mouse, the position of the progressive point I is displayed on the CT image Gi in the mark (+) similarly.
