TERMINAL OF LONG MATERIAL TO BE PULLED INTO CONDUIT AND HEAD FOR MONITORING INSIDE OF CONDUIT

PURPOSE:To facilitate the insertion of a monitoring head into a space in a conduit line by a method wherein a protecting member, consisting of a radially expanded sponge core and a soft covering body for covering the circumference of the core, is attached to the circumference at the end of a continuous material connected to a rope for passing a wire. CONSTITUTION:A protecting member 10 is a cylindrical matter, consisting of a radially expanded sponge core 11 and a soft covering body 12 provided so as to be contacted closely with the circumference of the core 11, while a continuous material 2 is penetrated through the protecting member 10. The protecting member 10 is attached to the continuous material 2 through a band 13a at the rear end of the covering body 12 and is attached to the circumference of a pulling fitting 4 through another band 13b at the fore end of the covering body 12. A rope 1 for passing the line is drawn thereinto previously. The continuous material 2, such as an electric cable, a pipe for an optical fiber cable or the like which is to be drawn into a conduit line, is connected to the rear end of the ropt 1 and, thereafter, the rope 1 is pulled whereby the continuous material 2 may be moved forward.
