PURPOSE:To obtain a titled thin sheet with which softening deformation in the stage of a heating treatment such as brazing is decreased by specifying the conditions for a soaking treatment in forming a cast ingot of an Al alloy contg. specifically composed Mn and V by a soaking treatment, hot rolling, annealing and cold rolling to a plate material. CONSTITUTION:An Al alloy contg., by weight, 0.2-2.0% Mn, and 0.02-0.5% V, contains, if necessary, =0.3% in total of =1 kind of 0.02-0.2% Zr and Cr respectively and consisting of the balance Al is cast to obtain a cast ingot. The cast ingot or an alloy billet formed of such cast ingot is held for 30min-10hr at 400-520 deg.C to be subjected to soaking treatment. Then the ingot is hot-rolled to a plate material, is annealed and is cold-rolled to a desired plate thickness. The yield in the stage of rolling is thus improved and the thin Al alloy sheet with which softening deformation in the stage of the heat treatment is decreased is obtd.
