SENSITIVITY SET SIGNAL GENERATOR FOR ULTRASONIC MEASURING INSTRUMENT

PURPOSE:To set the sensitivity at any time by providing a circuit which generates a pulse signal corresponding to the reception echo in accordance with a transmission pulse and an amplitude adjusting circuit and storing an adjustment value corresponding to the standard test piece echo of the amplitude. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic calibrating device 10 receives the transmission pulse from an ultrasonic flaw detector 21 to artificially generate the same ultrasonic reception echo as a standard test piece. The device 10 is provided with a time pulse generating circuit 13, a time counting circuit 15, an operating circuit 17 which sets a target count value, an artificial echo generating circuit 19, etc. The circuit 19 outputs the pulse signal, which has the same amplitude and generation timing as the reception echo which is obtained by measuring the test piece with a certain probe, as the artificial echo to the detector 21. The circuit 17 takes in the peak value of the pulse sent to the detector 21 and stores it as the reference peak value in a memory correspondingly to the used probe. Thus, the pulse signal having the same amplitude is generated in any place.
