INTER-GENERATION POINTER CONTROL SYSTEM FOR PARALLEL AND LOGICAL LANGUAGE

PURPOSE:To improve the memory control efficiency by collecting the pointers to the comparatively old areas allocated with data from the newest areas allocated with data into a certain area and collecting the garbage of the generation older by one generation at one time when the number of pointers reaches a certain ratio. CONSTITUTION:A non-route rate setting part 9 scans a route area 7 in a new space 3 of a generation older by one generation when the area of an old space of a certain generation is used up by a computer system. Then the part 9 sets a non-route rate, i.e., the rate of data belonging to the area 7 and not serving as a pointer showing a space of a certain generation nor an unrestricted variable. That is, when the computer system uses up the area of an old space of a certain generation, the GC of the relevant generation is carried out and at the same time the part 9 is started so as to carry out the GC of the generation older by one generation at one time if the non-route rate exceeds the prescribed value. Thus the memory control efficiency is improved.
