摘要

PURPOSE:To reduce resultant tensile stress on the surface of sleeve by applying compressive residual stress to reduce superposing action with the acting stress of oil pressure that is worked to a hydraulic chamber between the inner surface of sleeve ad the outer surface of shaft. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve 1 is shrinking fitted on a shaft 2. When working in a rolling mill, crown control is done by expanding the sleeve 1 by applying oil pressure to the hydraulic chamber 3 through hydraulic holes 4 which are bored in the shaft 2. By performing the heating by low-frequency induction heating when the sleeve 1 is quenched, it is easy to make a heated layer thicker and to restrain the heating-up of the inside. Therefore, deep quenching hardened layer is obtained and also larger compressive residual stress than using conventional technique can be given on the sides of both the inner and outer surfaces of the sleeve. Resultant tensile stress on he surface of sleeve can be reduced less than a half.
