METHOD FOR MEASURING YIELD VALUE OF LIQUID

PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform easy measurement in a short time regardless of the viscosity of sample liquid by naturally settling and naturally floating a measuring piece with respect to the sample liquid. CONSTITUTION:A measuring piece 12 has a columnar part 121 having uniform cross section at the intermediate part. A weight body 14 is provided at the lowermost end part so that the liquid surface is aligned with the position of the columnar part 121 when the measuring piece 12 is floated on sample liquid 10 with the weight. The columnar part 121 extends in the direction connecting the center of floating and the center of gravity when the measuring piece 12 is floated on arbitrary liquid. Graduations 123 are provided from a base line 122 at an equal interval. The work for naturally floating and then stopping the measuring piece 12 having the first weight with respect to the liquid 10, the work for naturally stopping the measuring piece 12 after natural settling, the work for changing the weight of the measuring piece 12 for the different second weight and the work for naturally floating or naturally setting and then naturally stopping the measuring piece 12 with respect to the liquid 10 are performed in an irregular sequence. The yield value of the liquid 10 is computed based on the volume of the part of the measuring piece 12 which is immersed in the liquid in each stationary state, the difference in effective surface areas of the parts which are immersed in the liquid and the first and second weights.
