PURPOSE: To read the accurate value of the oxygen concentration of a gas sample by providing a first barrier electrode between sensing electrodes specific to a component to be measured and an electrolytic solution. CONSTITUTION: Sensing electrodes 14a and 14b are arranged in an electrolytic bath 12 and a tank 16 communicates with the bath 12. In addition, an electrode 18b is arranged in the bath 12. The electrodes 14a and 14b are supplied with electricity from a DC circuit and a power regulator 20 and the electrolytic solution in the bath 12 forms an electrolysis circuit together with the electrodes 14a and 14b. The regulator 20 also supplies a potential to a common electrolytic solution together with electrodes 18a and 18b, the bath 12, and the tank 16 through another DC circuit.
