GUIDE WIRE FOR PREVENTING RESTENOSIS AFTER PERCUTANEOUS CORONARY ARTERY-PLASTY

PURPOSE:To prevent the restenosis of the coronary arteries by inserting a specific guide wire preventing the restenosis after percutaneous coronary artery- plasty from a catheter for percutaneous coronary artery-plasty. CONSTITUTION:After the constriction part of the coronary arteries is dilated, a catheter for percutaneous coronary artery-plasty is left as it is and a general guide wire is pulled out while a guide wire preventing the restenosis after percutaneous coronary artery-plasty is inserted. This guide wire preventing the restenosis after percutaneous coronary artery-plasty is prepared from a shape memory substance deforming a straight wire to a coil wire in the vicinity of 37 deg.C and, when the guide wire issues from the leading end hole of the catheter for percutaneous coronary artery-plasty, it becomes a coil shape along the inside of a blood vessel wall. The guide wire preventing the restenosis after percutaneous coronary artery-plasty is pushed from the rear by the general guide wire to be stayed in the constriction part of the coronary arteries and the restenosis of a lesion part is prevented.
