DEVICE AND METHOD FOR JOINING WEB IN TURRET CENTER UNWINDING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To promptly perform joining work, by pinching a leading web and a following web by a first guide roller and a swing roller for separation, by pinching a cut rear end part of the leading web and a point end part of the following web by a swing roller and a nip roller and by fusing the above parts by a welding means. CONSTITUTION:A leading web 5A and the point end of a following web 5B are overlapped and pinched by a swing roller 8 and a guide roller 7 of a joining device. Next, two sheets of webs are discharged by a certain degree to a side of a nip roller 9 from a pinch part by rotating the swing roller 8. In this way, a cut rear end part of the leading web 5A is detached from the pinch part and hung down between a pair of welding members 10, 10' along the nip roller 9. On the other hand, the following web 5B is hung down between the pair of welding members 10, 10' similarly along the swing roller 8. Here the swing roller 8 is turned to a side of the nip roller 9 and brought into contact with it, and both the webs 5A, 5B, after they are pinched by these rollers 8, 9, are welded in a welding part with a surplus part fused.
