PURPOSE:To perform continuous measurement in a non-destructive manner while operation is carried out by evaluating the high-order processability of a plated steel plate on the basis of the evaluation value obtained from the X-ray diffraction intensities of a zeta phase and a gamma-phase and the X-ray diffraction intensities of the backgrounds of both of them. CONSTITUTION:When a zinc plated steel plate is subjected to alloying treatment, the thicknesses, that is, the quantities of the zeta-phase and gamma-phase among the zeta-phase, delta-phase and gamma-phase successively grown after a eta-phase disappears from the surface of the plated layer correspond to the magnitudes of the total X-ray diffraction intensities thereof. Based on this, the evaluation values [I(zeta)-IB(zeta)]/I(zeta), [I(gamma)-IB(gamma)]/I(gamma) calculated from the X-ray diffraction intensities I(zeta), IB(zeta), and I(gamma), IB(gamma) of the backgrounds of the respective zeta-phase and gamma-phase has good correlation with the quality of a product regardless of a plating adhe sion amounts. Therefore, high-order processability can be evaluated on the basis of these evaluation values measurable in a manufacturing line or even when separated from said line.
