REGISTRATION OF CAD MODEL FOR VIDEO IMAGE HAVING CLUTTER ADDED

PURPOSE: To decide correspondence between a manufactured device and a CAD model used for manufacturing the device by correlating filtered CAD images and filtered device images. CONSTITUTION: The optical images of the surface of a certain device are supplied by using an image formation device 100 such as a video camera and a microscope, etc., synthetic CAD images are generated from a CAD data base 102 and the two images are filtering-processed (Gaussian Laplacian convolution) in convolution circuits 105 and 10-7. The results are binarized, the two filtered and binarized images are correlated by a binary correlation device 110 and relative alignment, that is matching, is decided. Thus, the observed images of the manufactured device are related to details such as the CAD data base used for manufacturing the device or the like.
