BEARING STEEL HAVING CORROSION RESISTANCE AND WEAR RESISTANCE

PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance, wear resistance, cold workability, and machinability by specifying respective contents of C, Si, Mn, Cr, S, O, Fe, and Ni. CONSTITUTION:The bearing steel has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.5-0.9% C, 0.9-2% Si, =1% Mn, 6-9% Cr, =0.006% S, =50ppm O, and the balance Fe or further containing, besides the above, =1.2% Ni. The above bearing steel is extremely reduced in noises at the time of use as bearing and has superior cold workability and machinability as well as excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
