摘要

PURPOSE:To manufacture the hydrogen occlusion alloy usable for the application to hydrogen occlusion at a low temp. by preparing an alloy blended with specified ratios of Ti, Nb, Cr and Cu. CONSTITUTION:In an alloy expressed by formula TixNb1-xCryCuz (where 0.5=X1.0, 1.0=y=2.5 and 0=z=0.3 are satisfied), the raw material is melted under heating in an arc melting furnace in an Ar atmosphere, is subjected to air cooling and is cast. The alloy ingot is heated and homogenized to about 800 to 1100 deg.C for about 3 to 6hr, is mechanically pulverized into about =300 mesh and is thereafter subjected to activating treatment. In this way, the Ti-Nb- Cr series hydrogen occlusion alloy desirably occluding hydrogen when hydrogen pressure of about 10 atmospheric pressure is applied at about -114 deg.C and discharging hydrogen by regulating the pressure to about one atmospheric pressure can be obtd.
