COLD BODY TRANSPORTING DEVICE FOR ALUMINUM INGOT TO RAPID MELTING FURNACE

PURPOSE:To simplify the device and to improve the efficiency of a transporting operation by providing a cold body charging chuter just before the cold body insertion area of a melting furnace and a conveyor which transports cold bodies thereto and inserting the cold bodies by their own weight along a slope. CONSTITUTION:The cold bodies 20 which are set by a cold body setter 10 and are supplied successively by each one pair are received by an endless conveyor 12 and are transported along a route inclined gently upward from the transportation starting part 12a thereof. The cold bodies are then risen in a direction A up to the top end level of the cold body charging chuter 11 via an intermediate part 12b of the conveyor which inclines fairly steeply. The upper surface of the conveyor 12 is twisted until the posture inclined forward and downward in correspondence to the angle of inclination of the chuter 11 from an approximately horizontal state during this rising stage and arrives at a terminal part 12c. The terminal part 12c is brought near to and arrayed in the chuter 11 and the inlet aperture 22 of the horn-shaped rapid melting furnace. The cold bodies 20 on the terminal end 12c can fall along the slope by their own weight.
