CONTACT PRESSURE DETECTING DEVICE FOR SLITTER KNIFE AND CONTACT PRESSURE REGULATING METHOD

PURPOSE:To facilitate regulation of the contact pressure of a slitter knife by a method wherein an air pressure fed to an air ring is controlled. CONSTITUTION:An upper blade 7 of a slitter knife is lowered against the energizing force of a return spring 13 by means of an air pressure fed to an air cylinder 17 and brought into pressure contact with a lower blade 21 to cut a sheet 22. In this case, a contact pressure proportioning the air pressure is exerted between the upper and lower blades 7 and 21. Thus, through control of the feed pressure of air to the air cylinder 17, a contact pressure between the upper and lower blades 7 and 21 can be easily and accurately regulated.
