METHOD OF IMPROVING QUALITY BY CONVERTING ORGANIC RESOURCE MATERIAL IN WATER ENVIRONMENTS

PURPOSE: To convert an organic resource substance to improve its quality by bringing the organic resource substance in contact with water under specified conditions and retaining a liquid phase for a sufficient period of time. ;CONSTITUTION: An organic resource substance is brought in contact with water in the absence of a reducing agent and water supplied from the outside and preferably in the presence of a brine catalyst and/or a clay catalyst and the temperature range is adjusted in the range from about 200°C to less than the critical temperature of water under the corresponding vapor pressure so as to retain the liquid phase to allow the contact to continue for a sufficient period of time thereby breaking the C-C bonds of paraffins, olefins, and aromatic hydrocarbon groups in the organic resource substance and breaking the C-N, C-O, and C-S bonds containing paraffinic, olefinic, and aromatic hetero atoms.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
