EXPERT SYSTEM FOR DECOMPOSITION INSPECTION PLAN OF FAULT

PURPOSE:To obtain the best decomposition inspection plan by determining the decomposition inspection plan in the case of the fault in consideration of difficulty in decomposition inspection, e.g. time required for the decomposition inspection. CONSTITUTION:An inference mechanism 4 is equipped with a conviction coefficient arithmetic means 42 which calculates a conviction coefficient as a value expressing the conviction extent of a inferred cause, a cause data base 52 stored with inspection time coefficients matched with respective user levels by causes, and a decomposition inspection plan determining means 43 which determines the decomposition inspection plan by calculating a decomposition inspection priority value by retrieving a corresponding inspection time coefficient in the cause data base 51 and multiplying this coefficient by the conviction coefficient. Then the order of the decomposition inspection is determined by considering the difficulty such as the time required for the decomposition inspection regarding a cause which does not have a large difference in conviction coefficient. Consequently, the decomposition inspection which requires a long time is prevented from being ineffective.
