ABNORMAL-WAVE REMOVING CIRCUIT OF WAVE HEIGHT METER

PURPOSE:To ensure the removal of abnormal waves automatically by comparing an abnormal time with an adequate threshold value when sea-level fluctuation data are lower than an average water level for the time longer than a normal period. CONSTITUTION:A threshold value for an adequate time interval is set in consideration of the wave characteristics of water waves with a threshold setting means 8. The time interval between the crossing time points when sea-level waveform data are directed to the crest from the valley is compared with the threshold value with a crossing-time comparing and discriminating means 7. The discriminating signal as to whether the threshold value is exceeded or not is sent into an abnormal-noise-section removing means 9. An ultrasonic- wave-type sea-level-fluctuation measuring means 1 captures the bottom surface of a foam layer generated in the water as the seal level. When the crossing time point interval of the sea-level waveforms exceeds the threshold value, the waveform is regarded as the abnormal waveform. The sea-level waveform data at this time section are removed. Thus, the more adequate waveform data processing can be performed.
