PURPOSE:To easily attain the correspondence between the position of an input and output I/O card and an I/O address by allocating the address of the I/O card set at the same position of the next rack in case an I/O card having a larger number of points than the minimum number. CONSTITUTION:The maximum and minimum number of points of an I/O card are set at 64 and 16 respectively and a rack can store eight I/O cards. Then the maximum four racks are prepared. Thus an I/O address can be set with the minimum number of cards using the number of points of the I/O cards set at each rack. Therefore the I/O address can be clearly known quickly at the position of the relevant card. In case an I/O card having a larger number of points than the minimum number is set, the I/O address of the I/O card set at the same position of the next rack is allocated. Thus it is possible to set an I/O card to easily know the correspondence between the position of the I/O card and the I/O address without increasing the number of internal memories.
