METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCTION OF FINELY PARTICULATE, HIGH-CONCENTRATION COAL-WATER SLURRY

PURPOSE:To produce a finely particulate, high-concn. coal-water slurry in excellent pulverization efficiency and pulverization characteristics, by pulverizing coal, water and a dispersant in a first mill and removing coarse particles from the slurry, followed by pulverization of the coal in a second mill. CONSTITUTION:Coal 1 is fed through a metering supplier 2 into a first mill 3a comprised of a ball mill having a ratio of barrel length to barrel diameter of 2-4. Also, water 4 and a dispersant 5 are fed into the first mill, and pulverization of the coat is conducted. The pulverization product is discharged as a slurry 8. The slurry 8 is introduced into a classifying device 9 having a vibration sieve. etc., thereby removing the coarse particles 9b of the slurry 8 out of the device. The underflow slurry 9a obtd. by the removal of the coarse particles 9b is fed into a second mill 3b comprised of a ball mill of the same type as that for the first mill, and pulverized. Thus, a finely particulate, high- concn. coal-water slurry 7 having a coal concn. of about 60wt% or more and free from coarse particles is obtd. by the use of a pump 6.
