PURPOSE:To determine an exact integrated intensity, by processing a spectrum signal to correct the distortion of a waveform present at the end of absorption and based on the superposition of a Plasmon loss peak and enhance the energy revolving power for the waveform. CONSTITUTION:Background removal processing is performed on a spectrum waveform signal obtained from a spectrometer 7. Along with that, a signal I(E) corresponding to a waveform having an energy range DELTAE and including only a zero-loss peak O and a Plasmon loss peak P is obtained. A signal G(E) corresponding to a energy-loss spectrum waveform, which has an energy range DELTAE and whose peak value below the energy at an absorption end Q is zero, is then obtained. The signals I(E), G(E) are subjected to Fourier transformation to obtain signals i(X), g(X) to obtain a signal g(X)/i(X)identicalh(X). The signal h(X) is subjected to inverse Fourier transformation. As a result, the distortion of the spectrum waveform based on the superposition of the Plasmon loss peak is removed, and the resolving power for a spectrum is enhanced.
