MALFUNCTION DETECTOR FOR SYNCHRONOUS MACHINE EXCITATION REGULATOR

PURPOSE:To effectively switch automatically to a backup unit by detecting the fact that an output signal is varied when an input signal of an excitation regulator does not vary and generating an automatic switch signal. CONSTITUTION:A malfunction detector 64 inputs a detection input and forms a deviation signal by a comparator 98. This deviation signal is inputted through a voltage amplifier 100 to a comparator 102. On the other hand, the final stage output of an excitation regulator 60 is inputted to an AND circuit 106 to detect the variation in the output of the regulator 60. Accordingly, the AND circuit 106 locks the regulator 60 after a light delay time when the output of the regulator 60 varies in case that a comparator 102 is not operated and generates an automatic switch signal for setting the backup unit to operating state. In this manner, the automatic switching operation to the backup unit can be effectively performed.
