METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FILTRATION AND INTAKE OF SURFACE FLOWING WATER IN SLOW-FLOW RIVER

PURPOSE:To permit clean water to take in regardless of variations in dust amount and water level as well as make construction work and management easier by burying an intake box between a design normal water level and a pump-stop water level along the slope of a revetment in a slow-flow river. CONSTITUTION:A flat intake box 4 is buried between a design normal water level 2 and a pump-stop water level 3 along the slope of a revetment 1 in a slow-flow river. Many swirl plates 5 are set in parallel in the right-angled direction to the side of flowing water in the box 4 to generate rising swirl flows and also to float up dust, etc. having small specific gravity and to settle sand and gravel having great specific gravity. Flowing water is filtered through a V-shaped wire screen 6 sideways set over the whole inner side and sand in the water is further settled in the box 4. The flowing water is sucked in from the lower part of a siphon pipe 7 by means of a pump 13 and sent to an upper water-pumping pipe 10 through an inlet to obtain clean water.
