This invention relates to the calcined magnesia containing little boron compd.. The calcined magnesia containing boron is contacted with water or aqueous medium whose pH is lower than 8. The liquid medium is seperated, at the point that converting ratio (magnesium oxide to magnesium hydroxide) is lower than 10%, to give caleined magnesia whose boron content is reduced. For the calcined magnesia, the calcination is performed at 800-1300C, for 1-3hrs. The produced magnesia is useful as raw material for bricks.
