METHOD FOR REPAIRING REFRACTORY LINING OF RISER FROM COKE OVEN AND THE LIKE

PURPOSE:To effectively fill damaged parts and broken joints in need of repair with an amorphous refractory material with ease and without scattering it about by spraying the refractory from a spray nozzle in a setup wherein a long inspection rod is inserted to a depth requiring the work and a spray pipe inserted to the spot to be repaired is equipped with a cover plate at the spray nozzle as a means to prevent the material sprayed from scattering about. CONSTITUTION:An inspection rod 4 consists of a long pipe 9 having a length sufficient for searching through inside a riser tube, provided with a scale 8, and having at the lower part a searching part 10 bent sideways for searching spots-needing-repair 6. A spray pipe 7 has a length sufficient for providing proper repairs to the inside of a riser 2; this spray pipe has at its lower part a spray nozzle 13, which projects at a right angle to the pipe, and freely conveys a well kneaded amorphous refractory as a spray material; a feed pipe 14 for water added is provided along the spray pipe 7 and connected with a watering part 15 provided at the lower part of the spray pipe; the spray material is sprayed sideways from the spray nozzle 13. To the forward end of the spray nozzle 13 is attached a sufficiently large rectangular cover plate 16 in parallel with the spray pipe 7 so that the amorphous refractory material sprayed is prevented from scattering about or falling in drips.
