PURPOSE:To perform the development of a pile pattern at a high speed and to enable the development of a variety of pile patterns with a fine gauge by using plural pairs of specific upper and lower select jacks and inserting the select jacks and a pile sinker into a cam groove of a sinker bed. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal feed cam member 10 is attached to a circumferential groove 8a of a sinker bed 8 attached to the top of the outer circumference of a cylinder 2 of a knitting machine. Each sinker groove 8b is provided with plural pairs of upper and lower select jacks and a pile sinker 12 in a state slidably inserted into said groove when pushed with the cam member 10. Engaging part 11d of the jack 11 is engaged with the outer end 12d of the sinker 12 and each butt 11e is pushed with each action piece 14a of each actuator 14. The pushing of the actuator 14 is controlled by a knitting program signal of a pattern developing controller. A land 12a and a nose 12b for pile loop are formed at the top of the inner end of each pile sinker 12.
