GRASPING METHOD FOR BATTERY STATE IN BATTERY DRIVEN TYPE COMPUTER SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To simply grasp the state of a battery by grasping the battery state from the battery replacement or the use time from charge, and informing this battery state to a computer user. CONSTITUTION:A system bus control circuit 112 executes read-out control for detecting a replacing state of a system battery 6, and also, reset control in order that the replacement of the system battery 6 can be detected. When the system battery 6 is replaced, the use time Tu is cleared to '0'. A storage place of the use time Tu is in an RTC 9 whose operation is operated continuously by a backup battery 10 even if a power source switch is disconnected. Subsequently, in the time of a using state, a large/small relation of the use time Tu and a display start time Td is checked, and in the case of exceeding the display start time Td being a threshold for starting the display of the use time Tu, the use time Tu is displayed, and informed to a computer user. In such a way, the battery state can be grasped simply.
