PRODUCTION OF CERAMIC PRODUCT CONSTITUTED OF TWO-LAYER STRUCTURE USING INCINERATION ASH OF SEWAGE DISPOSAL SLUDGE

PURPOSE:To economically utilize incineration ash by molding both the body powder for the lower layer which incorporates incineration ash of sewage disposal sludge and a plastic ceramic raw material and the body powder for the upper layer which incorporates the plastic ceramic raw material and a meltable raw material so that two layers are integrated and calcining the obtained molded article. CONSTITUTION:Both incineration ash obtained by incinerating sewage disposal sludge and a plastic ceramic raw material (e.g. GAIROME clay (kaolin clay)) are mixed with water. The obtained slurry having 50-60% concn. is dehydrated and dried until it reaches water content proper to molding. Thereafter this dried slurry is ground to obtain body for the lower layer. Both the plastic ceramic raw material and a meltable raw material (e.g. feldspar) are mixed with water. The obtained slurry having 50-60% concn. is dehydrated and dried until it reaches water content proper to molding. Thereafter this dried slurry is ground to obtain body powder for the upper layer. Then both body powder for the lower layer and body powder for the upper layer are packed in a forming mold so that two layers are formed, pressurized and molded. A molded article 1 having a two-layer structure constituted of the upper layer 2 and the lower layer 3 is obtained and thereafter calcined.
