PURPOSE:To retionalize a clerical work by providing a line changeover means for changing over the line so as to execute a data communication with a back up center and processing by the data communication with an ordinary center during a resting time of an operation of a data processing center. CONSTITUTION:In a memory 3 of a transacting device 20, a table 52 not shown, a work memory 53, a transmission buffer 54 and a receipt buffer 55 are disposed. Whether a receipt data stored in the buffer 55 in a CPU 28 is an operation resting information or not transmitted from a pause telegraphic sentence transmitter 13 is judged and subsequently, whether it has a resting processing function or not is judged. When it does not have the resting processing function, an operation pause is displayed by a display 28. When the resting processing function is provided, a telephone number of a back up center is called from the table 52, set in the memory 53, and a line is automatically connected to the center 40. As a result, a credit transaction information stored in the buffer 54 is fed to the center 40.
