PURPOSE: To improve the merging method of character data such as a alpha- numerics, etc., and an digital image by replacing respective characters into the two-dimensional bit pattern of a pixel and executing logical combination at a prescribed character position of an image area. CONSTITUTION: A form image file named, for example, 'application' is loaded by the display buffer of a display device and the image of a null application form is displayed by a mode for address-designating whole points. In an alphanumerical column which is drawing from a first custom data set such as 'John Doe', etc., respective characters are converted into a corresponding pixel bit shape. For example, 'J' for 'John Doe' is converted into the pixel bit shape, logical OR is obtained with the pixel at a character position corresponding to the column 11 and a row 6 and, after that, the logical OR of the residual alphanumerical column in 'John Doe' is calculated so as to process a null part corresponding to a 'customer name' in the null application form.
