PRODUCTION OF CLAD STEEL INGOT BY INSERT CASTING

摘要

PURPOSE:To decrease the dispersion of a cladding ratio and to improve yield by disposing an auxiliary material coated with a release material oppositely to a cladding metal and pouring a molten steel of a base metal into a casting mold, thereby executing insert casting. CONSTITUTION:The cladding metal 2 and the auxiliary material 4 made of the same components as the components of the base metal 3 are disposed to face each near the inside wall of the tapered casting mold 1 into said mold. The release material is preliminarily coated to the casting wall side of the auxiliary material 4 and the cladding ratio is set at a target value. The molten steel 3 of the base metal is then poured into the mold and the insert casting is executed to form a slab S. After the clad slab S' is cut out of the slab S, the slab S' is hot rolled and the product clad steel plate is obtd. The influence of the taper of the mold 1 is eliminated and the dispersion of the cladding ratio is decreased by the above-mentioned method; further, the product yield is improved as the auxiliary plate 4 is used.
