POLYANILINE FILM OR ITS DERIVATIVE FILM, PRODUCTION THEREOF AND ELECTROCHEMICAL DEVICE USING THE SAME

PURPOSE:To easily obtain an electrochemical device such as an electrochromic element by rubbing a polyaniline film formed on an electrode by electrolytic polymerization to obtain a dense film which is used to constitute a conductive- polymer color developing layer. CONSTITUTION:An aniline soln. acidified with hydrochloric acid is electrolytically oxidized to form a polyaniline film or its derivative film 3 on an electrode 2. The film 3 obtained by electrolytic polymerization is rubbed in an acidic soln. The coarse composition B of the film 3 is removed to obtain a dense structure A. An electrochemical device such as an electrochromic element is obtained from the conductive-polymer color developing layer 23 consisting of the structure A formed by the above-mentioned method, a counter electrode 25 and an electrolyte layer 26 interposed between the layers.
